Sony Unveils Limited-Edition GTA 6 DualSense Controller

Sony has revealed a limited-edition GTA 6 DualSense wireless controller. The reveal landed September 10, 2026, giving PS5 players their first official look at a controller tied directly to the game’s branding.

The headline detail for anyone hoping to actually get one: the black colorway is a PlayStation Direct exclusive. That means the version most likely to draw the most attention won’t be sitting on general retail shelves — it’s locked to Sony’s own storefront, the usual playbook for limited hardware runs Sony wants to control distribution on.

Why it matters

Themed DualSense controllers have become a reliable barometer for how hard PlayStation is leaning into a first-party or marquee third-party launch, and GTA 6 is about as marquee as it gets for the platform this generation. A dedicated controller reveal this far ahead of the November 19 launch signals Sony is treating GTA 6 as a flagship moment for PS5 hardware sales, not just software sales.

What’s not confirmed yet

Sony’s reveal covered the controller itself and the PlayStation Direct exclusivity on the black colorway. It did not include pricing, additional colorways, bundle details, or a firm on-sale date — none of that has been detailed publicly. Anyone hunting for one should keep an eye on PlayStation Direct specifically, since that’s the only channel confirmed so far for the flagship black version.

Expect more accessory reveals as November 19 approaches — Sony rarely stops at one piece of hardware for a launch this size.
