Rockstar Dev: GTA 6 'Will Definitely Be Released'
Amid fan anxiety over a third delay, developer Rob Nelson offered a blunt reassurance in a Famitsu interview.
After two delays, it’s fair to say GTA 6 fans have developed a bit of a nervous tic every time the topic of release dates comes up. That anxiety was put directly to Rockstar developer Rob Nelson in a recent interview with Japanese gaming outlet Famitsu, and his response was about as direct as it gets: “it will definitely be released.”
It’s a short line, but it’s doing a lot of work. With the game already having slipped from a Fall 2025 target to May 26, 2026, and now to November 19, 2026, the question of “will this actually happen on the date Rockstar just gave us” isn’t an unreasonable one for fans to ask. Nelson’s comment reads as an attempt to cut that speculation off at the source, reassuring players that the November date is the real one.
Whether a single quote settles that debate is another matter. Rockstar has, after all, said something similar before each previous date came and went. But coming from someone inside the studio, in a dedicated interview rather than a corporate press release, the remark carries a slightly different weight — less newswire statement, more direct answer to a direct question.
For now, Nelson’s comment sits alongside Rockstar’s official November 19 confirmation as the two clearest signals the studio has given that this date is meant to stick. Fans have heard confidence before. This time, they’re hoping it holds.
