How to Snag a Free Penaud La Coureuse (Plus a Free HSW Upgrade) in GTA Online

Rockstar is running one of the more generous freebies GTA Online has offered in a while, and it barely takes any effort to unlock. Players who complete at least one Weekly Challenge over the next two weeks will earn a free Penaud La Coureuse — plus a complimentary HSW upgrade for it, no extra grind required.

The catch, if it can even be called that, is timing. The car and its HSW upgrade aren’t handed over instantly; they’re redeemable when playing between September 24 and 30. So the sequence is: knock out one Weekly Challenge sometime in the current two-week window, then come back during that final week in September to actually claim the reward.

HSW — Hao’s Special Works — is GTA Online’s long-running vehicle-upgrade system, and getting one bundled in for free alongside the car itself is a nice bonus on top of a bonus. Weekly Challenges themselves are typically low-effort asks compared to some of GTA Online’s grindier content, which makes this one of the more accessible free-vehicle offers Rockstar has run recently.

For anyone active in GTA Online right now, there’s really no reason to skip this. It only requires finishing a single Weekly Challenge at some point over the next fortnight, and the payoff — a free car with a free upgrade attached — is redeemable the moment the September 24-30 window opens. Mark the date, knock out the challenge, and come back to collect.
