Minecraft Dungeons II arrives this Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with Mojang Studios and Double Eleven behind the sequel to the dungeon-crawling spin-off.

Where you can play. The game is set for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and the Xbox app. Search listings for the release put the unlock time at 08:00 UTC on September 29.

Price and Game Pass. The standard edition is listed at $29.99. It is also available on Xbox Game Pass and is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning one purchase covers Xbox consoles and PC. A search summary we reviewed also mentions a $49.99 Deluxe Edition with extra cosmetics and two future DLC expansions; that comes from a third-party listing we could not confirm against Mojang’s own page, so check the store before buying.

Co-op. The game supports up to four players total in online or local couch co-op. The campaign can also be played solo.

How it was announced. According to FullCleared, the game was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7, 2026, with “a gameplay reveal and a release date.”

Pre-order bonus. The pre-order incentive includes two hero skins, a Twisted cape and a Twisted chicken pet. It is available one per person at participating retailers from June 6 through September 28, so the window closes the day before launch.

Why it matters. The original Minecraft Dungeons was a lighter, action-RPG take on the franchise, and its sequel arrives at a busy point for Minecraft: the main game just received its Wilderness Bound drop on September 15. Day-one Game Pass availability and cross-platform release, including on Switch 2, make it an easy try for the game’s huge existing audience.

What we don’t know. We haven’t seen review scores, and Mojang’s page did not load for us during our reporting, so specifics on classes, gear systems and endgame content are left out here. We will follow up when embargoes lift.
