Leonida's Six Counties, Mapped

Beyond the six named regions, Rockstar's site refresh also confirmed six counties carving up GTA 6's setting.

Alongside the six named regions of Leonida — Vice City, the Leonida Keys, the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park — Rockstar’s refreshed GTA VI website also confirmed a separate administrative layer: six named counties.

The counties are Vice-Dale, Ambrosia, Kelly, Leonard, Mariana, and Lummox. Note that Ambrosia appears in both the region and county lists, suggesting some overlap or shared naming between Leonida’s geographic zones and its formal county boundaries — not unusual for a fictional state built to mirror real-world administrative structure.

Regions vs. counties

It’s worth being clear about what these two lists represent. The six regions describe Leonida’s geographic and environmental character — city, islands, wetlands, resort town, industrial zone, wilderness. The six counties are a separate, more administrative breakdown of the state, the kind of boundary lines you’d see on a real map rather than a tourism brochure.

Having both layers confirmed points to Rockstar building Leonida with the same layered depth it gave San Andreas in GTA 5, where city, county, and state distinctions all carried weight. Community mapping efforts have started using both lists together to sketch out rough layouts of the state, though any specific size or layout conclusions drawn from them remain estimates, not Rockstar-confirmed geography.

For now, what’s solid is the naming itself, straight from Rockstar’s own site refresh timed to Trailer 2’s release. Everything else — how these counties connect, how large each one is — is still speculation ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch.
