IKEA and Xbox's YXSTABY Furniture Collection Launches October 1
A nine-piece lineup of gaming furniture, including a thumbstick-shaped stool and a D-pad cushion, designed jointly by IKEA and Xbox. Prices start around £12.
IKEA and Xbox have teamed up on YXSTABY, a nine-piece furniture collection built around how people actually game at home today, rather than a dedicated battlestation setup.
What’s in it. The lineup includes a gaming lounge chair, a mobile TV stand on castors with hidden storage, a rolling side table with sliding doors to hide controller charging cables, a monitor stand, a toolbox for controllers and cables, a D-pad cushion, a stainless-steel D-pad platter, a thumbstick-shaped stool, and a mirrored display box for collectibles. IKEA says every piece was co-developed with Xbox rather than simply branded after the fact.
The thinking behind it. Philip Dilé, a product design developer at IKEA of Sweden, framed the collection around a shift in how people play: “How people play at home has shifted, and it is as much about relaxing and connecting with others as it is about performing, which changes what the space has to do.” Designer David Wahl connected the controller-inspired shapes to his own history with the brand: “I queued all night 25 years ago to get my hands on the first XBOX console, so those shapes are nostalgic to me.”
Pricing and availability. The collection was first unveiled at Gamescom in Cologne in August and went on sale October 1, 2026, in IKEA stores and online, with availability varying by market. In the UK, prices range from £12 for smaller accessory pieces up to £115 for the larger furniture.
Why it’s notable. Console makers partnering on physical home goods, rather than just peripherals, is still unusual. IKEA has done branded collaborations before, but a nine-piece range co-designed from scratch with a console maker’s own design language — down to a stool shaped like a thumbstick — is a more direct crossover than the usual licensed-merchandise approach.
