Helldivers 2 Where Things Stand: Ironclad Democracy Warbond Lands September 22
A tank-themed Premium Warbond is a week out, with Update 7.2 in October and a major 8.0 update promised for December.
Helldivers 2 has a busy autumn mapped out, and the next stop is close. Arrowhead announced on September 15 that the Ironclad Democracy Premium Warbond arrives on September 22.
What is in the Warbond. Per the PlayStation Blog post, the armored-cavalry theme includes:
- Primaries: the AR-11 Arbitrator, an assault rifle with an underslung shotgun, and the GL-15 Evictor, a pump-action grenade launcher.
- Secondary: the P-34 Breacher, a missile pistol firing phosphorous projectiles.
- Armor: the light BFM-16 Tanker and the heavy BFM-220 Ironclad, with a Blunt-Force Mitigation passive listed at 30 percent impact damage reduction plus knockback resistance.
- Throwables: the G-60 Anti-Tank Seeker and G-8 Immolation.
- Two capes, two boosters, an emote, player cards, a title and exclusive tank patterns.
The developers pitch it as “the quickest route from tyranny to Liberty.”
How we got here. Update 7.0, “Devoid of Liberty,” launched August 12 with a new Illuminate-themed biome, enemy type and hazard, plus a Legendary Warbond and SEAF non-player soldiers on some missions. The same day, Helldivers 2 joined the PlayStation Plus catalog, per PlayStation’s news page.
The roadmap. Arrowhead posted its plan for the rest of 2026 on August 31, as reported by Game Rant:
- 7.1 (September): a new Warbond and “two new rewards,” details undisclosed. The sources we reviewed do not say outright that Ironclad Democracy is that Warbond, though the timing lines up.
- 7.2 (October): new missions, a biome, an enemy type, a reward, a Galactic War event and a Liberty Day event.
- 8.0 (December): a major update described as “in a similar vein” to Devoid of Liberty. Arrowhead has not announced its content.
Speculation that 8.0 leans into the Automaton front is just that; nothing official backs it up.
Reminder on Warbonds. PlayStation’s page notes that Warbonds are permanent once bought, so there is no timer forcing you to unlock everything at once.
