Hades II at One Year: Patches, Console Ports and Where Supergiant's Sequel Stands

A year after leaving early access, Hades II is on every major platform and still getting steady bug-fix patches.

Hades II reached its 1.0 release on September 25, 2025, on PC, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, according to Kotaku’s report at the time. A year later, the roguelike sequel is on nearly every platform and Supergiant Games is still polishing it.

The timeline. Early access opened in May 2024. The 1.0 version, announced during a Nintendo Direct, launched September 25, 2025, with Switch 2 supporting 120fps on TV per Kotaku. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions followed on April 14, 2026, per the game’s Wikipedia entry.

Post-launch patching. Supergiant has kept up a run of Post-Launch Patch 2 hotfixes. Game Rant reported on April 25 that Hotfix 2 carried over 40 changes, including more Boon shop chances and Gold earnings in Dream Dives mode, reduced boss health for Chronos and Charybdis, numerous Boon interaction fixes and rare-crash stability work. Nintendo Life reported on July 29 that Hotfix 5, a bug-fix update, was live on PC, with the Switch and Switch 2 versions expected “at some point in the future.” Among the fixes: Wells of Charon not appearing after visiting Ephyra in Dream Dives, several weapon boon and god power interaction bugs, and UI and voiceover corrections.

That staggered pattern, PC first and consoles later, has become routine for the studio’s patches, according to both outlets’ coverage.

Reception. The Wikipedia entry lists Metacritic scores of 94 (PC), 95 (Switch 2) and 98 (Switch), and awards including Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2025 and Action Game of the Year at the D.I.C.E. Awards 2026. The same entry notes the original ending drew criticism, and that Supergiant revised it about a month after release.

What we could not confirm. In our searches we found no Hades II patch dated in September 2026 and no announcement of paid DLC or a new major content update. Anything beyond the hotfix cadence above would be speculation, and we are not presenting it as news.

Bottom line. Hades II is finished, widely acclaimed and stable. If you have been waiting for the PS5 or Xbox version to mature, the run of hotfixes since April suggests Supergiant is taking post-launch polish seriously, even without big new content on the calendar.
