GTA 6 Trailer 2, Fully Broken Down

Rockstar's second trailer confirms both protagonists, reveals Vice City in motion, and reframes how the story opens.

September 2, 2026

Rockstar dropped the second GTA 6 trailer on May 6, 2026, and paired it with a full refresh of the GTA VI section of its website. This is the fullest look at the game since the announcement, and it answers questions the first trailer left open.

Jason and Lucia, confirmed

The trailer locks in Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as the protagonists. Lucia is the series’ first female playable lead, sharing top billing with a male co-lead for the first time in the franchise’s history. That’s not a minor footnote — it changes how the story gets told from the ground up.

Vice City in daylight and neon

The footage runs through a day/night montage of Vice City: beachgoers filming content on the sand, dense traffic clogging the streets, nightlife districts lit up after dark, and a noticeably varied crowd filling every frame. Rockstar also shows off active mechanics — driving, shooting, and boat navigation on open water — rather than just static establishing shots.

Lucia’s prison exit

The trailer opens with Lucia walking out of Leonida State Penitentiary in prison clothes. It’s a striking image, and it’s widely read across press and community circles as a signal for where the story itself begins.

The setting

All of this plays out in Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional stand-in for modern-day Florida, built around Vice City as its Miami analogue. Between the returning setting, the new co-lead structure, and the sheer density on screen, Trailer 2 is the clearest statement yet of what Rockstar is building toward on November 19, 2026.
