Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch worldwide on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at midnight local time. The game arrives on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X/S.

This is the second time Rockstar has moved the date. GTA 6 was originally targeted for a Fall 2025 launch when first announced back in 2023, then pushed to May 26, 2026. Now it’s shifted again, landing just under six months later than that second date.

Rockstar addressed the delay directly in its announcement, writing on the Rockstar Newswire: “We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”

It’s a familiar note from a studio that has built its reputation on exhaustively polished open worlds, even when that polish comes at the cost of fan patience. For a game this anticipated, every delay lands as a major story, and this one is no exception — GTA 6 has been one of the most closely tracked releases in gaming for years.

With the date now set, attention shifts to the lead-up: pre-loading opens November 12, giving players a week to get the install out of the way before the midnight launch. Whether November 19 holds as the final date remains the big question hanging over the next several months, but for now, it’s the one fans have to plan around.
