Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Arrives October 1: What's In It and What Owners Pay
Echoes of Sekigahara, the Most Wanted survival mode and Legends bundle together for $69.99, with a $14.99 upgrade for existing owners.
Ghost of Yōtei’s final chapter is days away. Sony announced on August 12 that the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will launch on PS5 on October 1, 2026, and with only days to go, it is time to decide whether the purchase is for you.
What’s in the box. Per the PlayStation Blog, the $69.99 Complete Edition bundles:
- The main game
- Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the online co-op mode for up to four players, including the Raid
- Echoes of Sekigahara, a narrative expansion with flashbacks to the Battle of Sekigahara and a new valley area with new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes
- Most Wanted, a single-player combat survival mode Sony describes as a roguelike-style spin, with a bounty system and unlockable characters (Atsu with dual katana, Oyuki with kusarigama, Nagato with yari)
- Photo mode stamps, New Game Plus cosmetics, new trophies, and the Digital Deluxe Edition content and Charm of Hokkyokusei
Existing owners. A $14.99 Complete Edition Upgrade unlocks both expansions plus the Digital Deluxe content. Digital purchasers who buy by September 30 get an early Sakai Armor unlock.
The free patch. All players get a free update on October 1 adding a “Beauty of Yōtei” screensaver mode, new Watanabe Mode music tracks, quality-of-life features including armor appearance customization, and a high contrast accessibility option. Regional note: PlayStation’s Southeast Asia post lists an October 2 date for some territories.
Where the game stands. Ghost of Yōtei launched on PS5 on October 2, 2025. Legends arrived March 10, 2026 as free DLC, and T-Break reported on May 18 that developer Sucker Punch called the April 10 Raid update the last major planned Legends update. Lead designer Darren Bridges said: “The Raid update was our last major planned update for Legends. It finishes the story of the Yōtei Six in that mode.”
What we do not know. Sucker Punch has not said how long smaller Legends patches will continue, and we found no official word on a PC version. Neither is confirmed.
Bottom line. October 1 is both a content drop and a capstone. If you own the base game, the decision is whether Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted are worth fifteen dollars to you.
