Sandfall Interactive’s breakout RPG is taking its music on the road. NME reported on September 8 that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will tour a 2027 orchestral show, A Painted Symphony, across Europe and North America, with general ticket sales opening on September 15, 2026.

The dates. The run starts January 28, 2027 at the Galaxie in Amneville, France. Other dates NME lists include:

  • The O2, London: February 28, described as the first time a dedicated video game soundtrack concert has played that venue
  • Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona: March 23
  • Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam: May 6
  • Radio City Music Hall, New York: September 29 and 30
  • Greek Theatre, Los Angeles: October 6 and 7

Instant Gaming’s news site describes the announcement as 24 additional dates across 2027 and 2028. We could not retrieve full listings from that outlet, so check the official tour site for the complete schedule.

The music. The show is built around Lorien Testard’s soundtrack, performed with Alice Duport-Percier and Orchestre Curieux. NME quotes Testard on the staging: “I don’t like gameplay footage at concert tours. For me, it’s important to be present with the musicians because it’s such an incredible moment of being together.”

Where the game stands. According to a September 20 overview from King of Geek, Expedition 33 had passed 8 million copies sold by April 2026, up from 5 million in December 2025, and holds the record for Game of the Year wins, including nine Game Awards 2025 trophies and three BAFTAs. We are attributing those figures to that outlet rather than confirming them independently.

The same overview says Sandfall’s free “Thank You Update” (Patch 1.5.0) arrived in December 2025 with a new playable area, boss battles and Photo Mode, and that the studio has said no paid expansions or season pass are planned. It also reports creative director Guillaume Broche saying, of a Switch 2 version, “a lot of features don’t work on Switch 2,” and that it is too early to announce anything. Treat any Switch 2 release-date chatter you see elsewhere as unconfirmed.

Bottom line. More than a year after launch, the story is now about legacy: a game with no paid DLC on the horizon is headlining arena stages. If you want a seat, the sale opened this week.
