Battlefield 6 Season 4 Tidal Strike Is Live: Proximity Chat, Deep Six and What Comes Next
Game Update 1.4.3.0 rolled out September 15 with vehicle fixes, reticle overhauls and a new Battle Royale voice feature.
Battlefield 6 is in a new season. According to EA’s official post, Game Update 1.4.3.0 became available to download on all platforms at 8:00 UTC on September 15, with Season 4: Tidal Strike content going live at 12:00 UTC the same day.
What’s new.
- Deep Six Collection Event (September 15 to October 12): players complete contracts and gather intel devices to earn weapon packages and the new Diver’s Knife.
- Phantom Program: a limited-time REDSEC operation built around hidden intelligence and easter eggs tied to a Fort Lyndon security breach, with weapon packages and other rewards.
- Proximity Chat: the first version arrives in Battle Royale, letting you talk directionally to nearby players. EA notes: “Walls can obstruct voices, indoor spaces can change how they sound, and being inside a vehicle will also affect what you hear.”
Balance and quality-of-life changes. The patch notes call out improvements to vehicles (Transport Helicopters, RCB90s and Scout Helicopters), reticle overhauls for clearer visibility across optics and launchers, and rebalancing of the Interdictor weapon for more consistent damage. Carrier Strike gets spawn-camping mitigation, Tsuru Reef’s Breakthrough mode gets sector expansions, Custom Lobbies expand to seven additional modes, and Ranked play adds AFK detection and kicking.
What’s next. EA’s 2026 roadmap post, dated June 4, laid out plans beyond Season 4. For Season 5, it lists the return of a server browser with official servers, Platoons of up to 100 members with XP bonuses, reworks of the Blackwell Fields and New Sobek maps, and multiplayer leaderboards. Longer-term items include jet loadout customization, air radar, testing of a grenade throwback feature, more Operations and map-changing destruction. Those are planned features, not dated ones; EA’s post as we retrieved it gives no specific Season 5 date, so do not treat any date you see circulating as confirmed.
Bottom line. This is a content-and-polish patch rather than a shake-up: a new event, a REDSEC operation, a long-requested proximity voice system in its first form, and a pile of fixes aimed at vehicles and optics. The next big shift, per EA’s own roadmap, is Season 5’s community tools.
